We played the CX Trophy at Clearwater Bay on October 17th. It was a very good day for golf with mostly sunny skies and cooler temperatures but difficult conditions with the strong breeze. We had a total of 16 players with 15 members and 1 guest.
The highlight of the day was a hole in one by our Captain JP on the 11th hole. We all enjoyed nice champagne after the round.
Raaj Shah using his home course advantage won the trophy with 37 pts shooting a gross 71. JP was second with 34pts. Best front nine and back nine went to Terry Mackey (15pts) and Mark Cameron (19pts) respectively. Low gross won by YB Rai with a 78.
The team competition (made up Cha Cha Cha Cha) was won by Raaj, Terry Wright, Jonny Plews and guest Neil Gardner. Neil also won best guest (he was the only guest).
Twos were shared by JP for his ace and Simon Acton. Sharpshooter went to Raaj at +2 on the par 3s.
Nearest to the pin was won by Raaj, Peter Aherne, JP, Andre, and Jonny Plews.
Long Drive was won by Tom McColl, Raaj and Nigel Fu (2).
Simon Scanlon was keenest golfer shooting a 101 for 22pts.
Overall was a very enjoyable and memorable day.
