Jens Monk Trophy/Champions Cup 2023

Our competition for the Jens Munk Trophy and the Champions Cup brought us out to the beautiful Old Course once again. The hot and humid weather did not pose as much of a challenge as originally thought, with 9 out of 16 members scoring above 30 stableford points.

Seven guests joined us for the event, with James Donnelly winning in the best guest competition and a very strong 38 points. Great to see that there are quite a few guests interested in joining the society.

The most coveted prize as keenest golfer went to Eric this time, narrowly beating Simon Hague who was also in the race for shot of the day, managing to hit trees with three shots in a row. Scott, however, managed to shoot birdie, birdie, birdie automatically qualifying for the LIV event to be played on Old Course in 2025.

With a strong 79 off the stick, Oosty managed to win the Best Gross competition and YB Rai, whom we unfortunately hadn’t seen in a while beat Lorenz on countback, winning the Jens Munk Trophy and a free green fee. Lorenz took home the Champions Cup with a net score of 68.

Another great day of golfing on one of the most iconic golf courses in Hong Kong.
